Paul Amstutz retires June 1, 2004:
05 May, 2004
Paul Amstutz is retiring as President/CEO of NAS
Surety Group (formerly Washington International Insurance Company-WIIC)
effective June 1, 2004. His retirement marks the end of a 20 year
career as head of the organization.
Paul was hired by WIIC in December 1983 to head up the newly
formed Contract Surety Division. In 1987 Paul was appointed
President/CEO of WIIC and mastered several changes that were to have a
lasting influence on the company. Through his knowledge of the
industry and creative business acuity, WIIC expanded its successful
business of underwriting U.S. Customs Bonds to include Contract and
Commercial Surety. An affiliate was also formed to offer
commercial collections services worldwide. In 2000, Paul pursued
and provided leadership in the successful purchase of WIIC by North
American Specialty Insurance Company, a SwissRe owned
company.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt thanks to Paul for
his leadership and friendship.
